An aside:
When I was growing up at the Military Academy, my Dad, B.J. Gault, Lt.Col.US Army, was a Scout Leader. My two brothers, Ben and Gary, were enthusiastic members, and the area around West Point, NY served as a wonderful place to be outdoors, and work on badges, camp,
play, and learn what scouting was all about.
Later, when I moved to Canada and had 2 boys of my own, I shared in their interests, saw pictures of a neighbor's boy who attended a Worldwide Scout Jamboree in New Zealand, and realized what an awesome organization it has been for so long.
I also met a man here in Jacksonville, who had been an Eagle Scout, the highest designation,
and he loved to recount his stories of the adventures he had with his "boys."
I had the opportunity to be a "Brown Owl" Leader in London, Ontario, Canada for a troop of young girls and we had more fun learning together...it was so different from my having been a Girl Scout in New York City, at another time & place.
I think the young people will enjoy their association with all the area around Resurrection - The Fort Caroline monument, the Roosevelt area, and just our own church grounds has so much to offer for physical and spiritual growth... We're so happy they are now part of our Church family.
