Camp Weed - a special place.

Many of us, at Resurrection, have spent many happy hours and days at Camp Weed.

A highlight is Mandy's Chapel, where we worship. The view is spectacular, the architecture uplifting...it is a very special place...

When we meet for ECW events, we assemble and have refreshments overlooking the view from the expansive deck space. It was there that I saw a lady quietly enjoying the ambience, wearing a prayer shawl she treasured.

From there we make our way along the path to the Chapel, where we sing, accompanied by harp music, provided by Sue Carmichael, and have communion. We see crafted banners, lovingly created by hand. We are introduced to new people. We gather for a group picture - we TRY to squeeze all together.

Then we make our way back to a small hall, where an excellent lunch is provided, buffet style. We mingle, say grace, thank our sisters for their contribution to the day's events, admire the centerpieces of real flowers that are available to take home for a donation, and enjoy the filtered sunlight from above.

Our meetings are again accompanied by songs, this time led by Sue, playing the guitar, and we get to meet new members from near and far, and get reacquainted with others. We learn what is going on around the diocese, and around the world. We hear the financial picture. We celebrate when some deserving church wins something special through our efforts and UTO.

We greet the new officers, and applaud those who have served. We hear the plans for the future, and we marvel at how this diverse group of ladies accomplishes so much for so many.

In the big dining room we see the enormous quilt, made up of blocks from each Church in our Diocese...they are marvelous in their detail, and diversity of color and design. A lot of talented gals we have among us.

We leave for our respective homes, uplifted by the camaraderie, the worship, the music, and knowing we are a part of something so wonderful...we give thanks for being able to come together in this special place...
Camp Weed.
